D Hammond has won the tender for a large warehouse refurbishment in Redditch – a project expected to take 20-24 weeks. Acting on behalf of the commercial landlord, Savills asked D Hammond to tender for the stripping out and complete refurbishment of the warehouse, which had previously been let to a printing firm, before re-presenting it to the letting market.
A proven track record of working to time scales, coupled with a tender process that required us to liaise closely with the surveyor and professional team to produce a more cost-effective solution all combined to secure this large scale project for D Hammond. Our collective goal is to get the project completed to budget and the agreed time scales so that Savills can start the search for new tenants as soon as possible.
In order to achieve best value for the client we initially carried out a validation of all existing electrical, mechanical and fire detection services to advise on any existing equipment which could be retained, amended or upgraded in order to identify the most cost effective method to provide a high quality energy efficient end product.
This was conducted in conjunction with detailed site surveys of the other large work packages such as roofing, cladding and groundworks internally and externally to offer value engineering options for all large work packages within the project.
Following this exercise the client was presented with a range of reputable alternatives which met or exceeded their minimum requirements for warranties, guarantees and service life for their review and instruction.
The full refurbishment will ensure the unit is guaranteed wind and weather tight and takes in the warehouse, offices and canteen and includes mechanical & electrical upgrades.
