Summertime is painting time

Summer is undoubtedly the best time for attending to exterior decorations – it’s arguably the busiest time of year for our painting and decorating teams and this summer is no exception.

Scaffolding is now in place and work is underway in Portland Place at the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), where Darenth Valley is carrying out a full exterior refurbishment.

This contract is an excellent example of how we are able to fulfil a broad spectrum of maintenance needs for our clients. Darenth Valley has successfully retained the PPM (planned preventative maintenance) contract at Portland Place since 2012 and has developed good working relationships with both the appointed building services design consultants, Leonard Engineering, and the landlord and client, the Nursing and Midwifery Council. It was on the basis of this relationship, a project carried out last year and providing value for money, that we were awarded the contract.

Renovations should be complete, and scaffolding removed by end of September when we look forward to showing off the pictures of the refurbished, happy building. As always, we will aim to minimise disruption to those using the building and to keep the tenants happy during the work.

We believe that the very best way to keep buildings happy – working efficiently and cost effectively – is to identify and correct preventable maintenance issues in the building and its assets before they escalate.

A Darenth Valley Planned and Preventative Maintenance (PPM) Contract, like the NMC contract, does this and provides the peace of mind that should routine or emergency maintenance be required that we are available, and familiar with the building and its assets – working in partnership with our clients to keep the buildings and the people in them happy.
